A New Tradition – Senior Night
As Lebanon Trail arrives with its first senior class, new traditions begin. One of these traditions is the Senior Night football game which will be held on September 5 at Toyota Stadium.
This night celebrates seniors in the football team and cheerleading team for their contributions. Originally planned to take place at the Star, the Senior Night for these organizations has been moved so that Eastwood High School of El Paso could play Plano Senior High School at the Ford Center at the Star out of respect for the tragedy recently faced. An additional senior night will occur on October 11 at Toyota Stadium to recognize the band and Emerald Elite.
“We moved senior night to help the game continue. As soon as they asked whether we would be able to move the game, Coach Jackson and I did not hesitate,” Principal Jacob Duce said.
In addition to commemorating seniors, the night also honors those involved with the development of each program.
“Senior Night to me is a celebration of all the work and time everyone, including parents, have put into their respective activity,” senior Frederic Balbinot and Trail Blazer fan said.
No matter the changes to the schedule, the buzz around senior night remains strong. Football players are excited for the opportunity to represent and are motivated to succeed on Senior Night.
“I look forward to playing with my football family and snagging a win to make our school proud,” senior wide receiver Jatin Kumar said.
