As another school year comes to a close, Lebanon Trail students are not only finishing their finals but also reflecting on a year filled with experiences, resilience, and cherished memories that defined a special life on campus.
“One of the most memorable experiences I’ve had this year was going to Austin with the Newspaper for the Journalism Convention!” Poorvi Deshpande, a junior, said. “It was an amazing learning experience and allowed me to grow as a writer. Along with just being an incredibly meaningful experience, I think this is a great representation of my time so far at LTHS because the school offers so many different opportunities throughout the year and really prioritizes student growth and development.”
From the electric energy of the opening-night pep rally to the quiet determination of late-night study groups, the 2024–25 school year was marked by both record-breaking victories and personal milestones. Students united with one another in the classroom, on stage, in competition, and throughout the community.
“The school has always been great with academic opportunities and events, but this year I think they’ve added a lot more to the social aspect,” said Deshpande. “Through the cultural pep rallies and the many senior events, I think they’ve been able to cultivate a stronger sense of community in the school this year!”
Clubs thrived this year, each leaving its own mark on the student experience. DECA students found success at state and BPA competitors advanced through regionals; students continually pushed their limits. Volunteerism also remained robust, with students dedicating their time to a wide scope of causes, demonstrating that Trail Blazers are engaged both on and off campus. With the vast array of clubs and organizations at LT, each one had a special place in the hearts of students.
“One club that helped make a strong impact on me was Choir,” Mehek Sharma, a junior, said. “I’m a Choir Officer, spending a lot of my time making sure the Choir can run smoothly. Seeing the people, especially the new members, flourish and do so much in just one year has put such a strong emotional impact on me as it shows that the effort that the other officers and I have put into the Choir is paying off.”
LTHS athletes illuminated the field, court, and pool with performances that not only captured district championships but also shattered personal records. From the early morning cross-country meets to the late-night soccer battles, teams poured their hearts into every competition. Moreover, it wasn’t just athletic achievements that took center stage—academic success soared to new heights this year, with UIL honors, scholarship awards, and college acceptances pouring in. At the heart of LTHS, there is space for both athletic and academic achievements, each accumulating a certain sense of pride amongst the student body.
“I think something that all my peers are proud of when it comes to sports is how our football team won the Homecoming Game,” Sharma said. “This is the first time in the time me and my peers have been in LTHS that we have won a Homecoming Game. This helped amp up the school spirit and add so much more excitement into the Homecoming experience than we had expected.”
Student life thrives at the heart of LTHS, from vibrant spirit weeks and hallway decorating competitions to exciting events like Homecoming and Prom. Showcased this spring was Prom, which culminated the year with an unforgettable “Evening in the Garden” theme. Additionally, student council has maintained high school spirit through monthly events such as pep rallies and some of LT’s most creative spirit days.
“I enjoyed the neon pep rally the most because it is always our last pep rally of the year,” junior Yerah Song said. “It’s special because a lot of people show up to it, it really brightens our school spirit.”
Looking forward, the 2025–26 academic year is in progress: new courses, newly refurbished buildings, and an even stronger emphasis on student satisfaction. As seniors graduate and underclassmen take their place, the legacy of this year remains, not just in awards or activities, but in the everyday stories of friendship, resilience, and pride.
“I hope to see more people with school spirit next year, like coming to the pep rally and football games,” Song said. “And I would like to tell the future Trail Blazers to enjoy the moment and never let yourself get burnt out.”
LTHS’ 2024-25 book may be closed, but its legacy has just begun. Here’s to the lessons learned, the memories created, and the future yet to unfold.
