Three years ago, the first season of Squid Games was released and became a global sensation. Now, the second season of Squid Games has been recently released and once again it took the internet by storm.
Going into the second season, I thought it would just be the same games as the first season, But, it was not. The whole story still mainly revolves around the games, though. The reason why season 2 is so good is that it builds on the story and action taking place, making it all more interesting. The second season follows Gi-Hun’s journey, as he is trying to expose and stop the games.
What made Season 2 stand out is how it goes deeper into the themes of power and survival. You get to see more about the people running the games and why they do what they do, which makes it even more messed up. It also shows the emotional struggles of the players and the tough choices they have to make, which makes everything feel way more real.
Season 2 became so popular because of the cast. Fans were excited to see the return of Lee Jung-jae as Gi-hun and Lee Byung-hun as the Frontman. The introduction of new characters also brought fresh energy to the series. Some of these new faces quickly became fan favorites, adding more excitement and depth to the story.
Season 2 also sets the stage perfectly for Season 3, ending with a cliffhanger that has left people with theories and questions. It’s clear the story is far from over, and the buildup leaves you eagerly waiting for what’s next.
Squid Games season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
