Vision Boards have quickly become a tradition to complete at the beginning of the year. Vision boards can be physical or digital representations of goals for a duration of time. They can represent goals for the upcoming year or month, and are catered to the individual person.
On vision boards, people usually include images relating to lifestyle, travel, spirituality, hobbies, and other categories that hold significance to them. They act as a tangible representation of people’s goals and help them be consistent and accountable for what they plan to achieve. Also, they can be created around the same time as New Year’s resolutions are, helping people stick to those resolutions as the year progresses.
As a senior, I wanted to keep reminding myself of my goals throughout all of the changes that will take place this year. I decided to create my first ever vision board. I went on Pinterest and created a new board with separate categories to make the creation process easier and more efficient. I started brainstorming the layout of my vision board, adding most important priorities to the top and clustering the images based on the categories.
The process was a lengthy one, however, it allowed me to reflect and think about what my plans and visions for this year are. I loved incorporating inspiring phrases with pictures to highlight what I endeavor to accomplish. I did not have a color theme for my board, choosing to let the images portray their own kind of theme.
Vision boards are an extremely gratifying experience. I feel a deep sense of joy looking at my vision board and seeing what I have planned for myself. I am certain that I will continue to create one for the years to come.
