Chicago’s famous Chi Tea opened its first Texas location here in Frisco this November. Chi Tea has over 20,000 followers on Instagram and offers a wide variety of fried food. They cater to a lot of different people with Halal options and adjustable spice levels. The spice levels range from Not Spicy to Mild to Spicy to Extra Spicy. Their menu includes chicken sandwiches, burgers, fries, and boba.
Inside Chi Tea, you can either order at the counter or use the online order kiosk located on your left. There are lots of seating options, including benches, chairs, and couches. The vibe inside is super friendly and welcoming.
The first thing I tried was the “Big Bird” for $10.99. It’s a Nashville hot style fried chicken sandwich with Chi sauce on brioche bread. I got both the mild and the spicy versions. The chicken was really big and crispy. The mild one was already pretty spicy, but the spicy one was even hotter. Next time, I’d want to try the Not Spicy just to see how it tastes. I give it a 3.5/5.
Next we had the Beef Loaded Fries for $6.99. They were okay but nothing special. They reminded me of Animal Style Fries from In-N-Out, just spicier. They had a strong mustard flavor, which I didn’t like, but if you’re into mustard, you might enjoy them. I give them a 3/5.
The last thing I got was the Regular Blended Honeydew Boba with tapioca pearls for $5.58. The drink itself was really flavorful and refreshing. The tapioca pearls, though, were a little bland, so they didn’t add much flavor. Overall, the drink was great, and I’d rate it a 4/5.
Overall, Chi Tea was a good experience. The prices are fair but a little on the higher side. The food tasted good, and the staff was super nice and welcoming. All in all, I’d give Chi Tea a 3.5/5.
