The 2024-2025 school year has kicked off with many events and experiences rolling up. The new batch of seniors have plenty of opportunities to participate in senior events, such as Senior Sunrise, Senior Bonfire, Senior Prom, and many more.
These events will be hosted by the Student Council, which will coordinate how the events play out.
“StuCo spends the most time organizing Senior Sunrise, Senior Sunset, and Prom,” said StuCo President, Alexa Cordero. “We plan for these events by working with other organizations like the PTSA, and the School Administration to work out a time, place, food, and activities for each event.”
Many seniors attended the first senior event of the year, Senior Sunrise, which took place on August 16th from 6-8 A.M. Seniors witnessed the sunrise that Friday morning along with their close friends to eat breakfast, take pictures, and make memories.
“I had a great experience at Senior Sunrise…I was really proud that we had a good turnout and that everyone enjoyed our pancake bar, lawn games, and our senior crown craft station,” said Cordero.
While some of the seniors this year missed out on the sunrise, they’re looking forward to the upcoming events. These events are opportunities to make memorable experiences with classmates and close friends before leaving for college.
“The senior event that I am looking forward to the most is probably the bonfire… It seems like a nice way for the class of 2025 to come together and have fun; I realized that this was the last time I would do this in high school before I am expected to have ‘adult responsibilities’,” said Ira Tendulkar, a senior at LT.
Aside from the events hosted by StuCo, the class of ‘25 is also excited about general events like Homecoming, football games, pep rallies, and most importantly, major school dances like Prom.
“Prom is obviously a big way to end the year and make a lot of lasting memories before we all go to college… I think it’ll be a really fun way to wrap up my last year in high school,” said Anoushka Kanitkar, a senior at LT.
While celebrating the last year of high school, the class of ‘25 will have many opportunities to make memories and spend time with their close friends. Before leaving off to college, these high school experiences will serve as a way for seniors to keep memorable experiences at heart.
