In the bustling halls of Lebanon Trail High School, one educator stands out as a beacon of inspiration and knowledge. Coach Quiros, a skilled high school language teacher, has dedicated her career to teaching students about the different cultures that the world has to offer.
Quiros’ dream to explore the world grows every day, and she hopes to witness her teachings come to life and experience true culture.
“My wildest dream is to travel to different countries and experience what life has to offer around the world,” Quiros said.
With a background in culture and a heart for teaching, she embarked on a mission to instill a sense of wonder and curiosity about the different cultures into student’s hearts at LTHS.
“ I teach Spanish 1 and proctor Chinese 2 with a passion, working with students of all grades,” Quiros said.
Students also call Quiros “Coach” for her part time involvement in LTHS Wrestling.
“ I am the varsity assistant wrestling coach for both boys and girls,” Quiros said.
Coach Quiros also has a cultivated life outside of school that is not only educational, but nurturing.
“Outside of teaching, I love to be crafty, learn new languages/skills, bake, or spend time with family,” Quiros said.
Quiros embarks on an interesting and generational heritage that holds an impact on her family.
“My mom is Mexican while my dad is Puerto Rican, and I have a younger brother who is a junior at Liberty HS,” Quiros said. “I am the last person of my generation to be able to have a conversation in Spanish, so I always encourage others to reach down and stay in touch with their roots.”
Lastly, Coach Quiros offers a piece of advice gleaned from life lessons.
“My life advice is to remind people that every single choice they make on a daily basis will lead to their lifestyle, and to go out of their way to learn how to self-reflect to learn more about themselves from within,” Quiros said.
