Paw Patrol, is a relatively popular kids show featuring a kid leader named Ryder and his teammates of dogs that go around and solve problems within their city, Adventure Bay. The series started airing on August 12, 2013, and has reached 10 seasons. Recently the sequel to the Paw Patrol: The Movie, which came out on August 20, 2021, Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie came out this September on the 26th. 

Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie was a very typical kids movie. It’s very limited in its storytelling, but easily digestible for its younger intended audience. However, it can be very boring for the parents or siblings that are also watching along. From the very beginning, it is easy to tell what will happen as the plot of Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie is a repetitive formula that other kids shows use also. The whole premise of it is Ryder and the dogs defeat a bad guy who wants to ruin their city. Nothing more nothing less something that honestly would’ve been easily fitted into one of the episodes in the Paw Patrol series and not a full movie. While the movie may be bland to adults it does teach a valuable lesson to the children that are watching that anyone can be a hero in a sense. 

In the movie, there are many characters involved like Skye and Liberty who are dogs, and Ryder who is a kid. It is very hard to keep up as the Paw Patrol story tries to make every character in the movie an important one which leaves even more confusion on who and what are important. At the beginning of the movie, it makes it seem like Liberty will be the main protagonist in the movie as she does not have superpowers unlike the rest of the main cast, but towards the middle end of the story, it turns out that the movie’s real protagonist is Skye. The wide variety of characters can make it confusing to many of the younger audiences watching as in the Paw Patrol series the main character is usually Ryder. On the other hand, this wide variety of characters allows children to connect better with the show as they could potentially see themselves in one of the characters.

Regardless Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie has a good message and can easily relate to the younger audiences. The movie might make people older than 8 fall asleep as the movie is made for children and lacks a unique storyline. Paw Patrol: the Mighty Movie can be seen on a variety of streaming platforms like Paramont+, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube.
