Starting the DECAde Strong

Members of the Lebanon Trail HS chapter of the Distributive Education Clubs of America, also known as DECA competed in district competition at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas on January 14. For the first time in school history, over 100 students qualified for state competition, making Lebanon Trail one of the biggest chapters in the state.

Senior Ti Jie Tan, a DECA participant for three years, qualified for state his third time in a row.

“It feels amazing qualifying for state for the third time. I came to America in the eight grade and barely knew English and DECA helped me become more confident in my communication skills,” Tan said.
