Starting the fall season, Lebanon Trail has become the highest ranked tennis team in Frisco ISD history, ranked second in the state against 5A competition. Senior Tanay Rishi has been a part of the varsity team all four years and has been an integral piece to the season.

“I think my forehand has improved as my forehand has become really dominant,” Rishi said.

To stay motivated, Rishi looks upon his teammates.

“I think my teammates motivate me to play as I strive to make sure I do my part in making the team successful,” Rishi said.

Rishi, while remaining a key contributor to varsity, had started playing Tennis later than most players.

“I started playing tennis in the seventh grade, fairly later than most other players,” Rishi said.

The team’s most prominent goal is to focus on each game at a time.

“Our goal as a team for the fall season was always to make the state tournament. So far it has worked as we are undefeated and in the regional semis,” Rishi said.
