A Super Way to Support People With Disabilities
Friday, December 1st, students and staff at Lebanon Trail High School are encouraged to dress up as a superhero in honor of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The following week is deemed White Ribbon Week and will be used to raise awareness for people with disabilities.
Wear white on Monday, a hat on Tuesday, sunglasses Wednesday, red or pink on Thursday, and dress alike with a friend or a group of friends on Friday. As a reminder of the different days, various posters to indicate their themes are located around the school.
Also, there will be a white ribbon donation drive to support special education programs. Some of the needed donations include:
- Clorox wipes
- Dry erase markers
- Kleenex
- Ziploc bags
- Small paper clips
- Washable markers
- Cardstock
- Folders with brads
- Binders
- Glue sticks
- Notebook paper
- Highlighters
- Colored pencils
- Pencils
- Red pens
- Cap erasers
- Wite-Out
- Envelopes
International Day of Persons with Disabilities was started in 1992 to help raise awareness for students with mental or physical disabilities, and the official day is on Sunday, December 3rd. Remember to show your support this coming week for all of your unique peers!
