Sizzlin’ Savory State Fair Fridays

Sizzlin' Savory State Fair Fridays

With the Texas State Fair in its height, our lunch menu at Lebanon Trail has been offering special fair-themed dishes since September 29th and will continue to do so until October 20th.

The Texas State Fair began on September 29th, and Frisco ISD schools have given their students tickets for free entry on most Sundays of the fair’s duration. While it is encouraged that students utilize the tickets, some may not be able to go. For those who can or can’t attend the fair, the Lebanon Trail cafeteria is offering their own version of some of the iconic fair foods.

The lunch items featured may not aspire to the fried delicacies of the Texas State Fair, but students are still happy for the unique menu.

Sophomore Zoe Law said, “That’s pretty cool. If they don’t go to the state fair, at least they still get to enjoy those foods.”

Another student, sophomore Ashley Yang, was also happy about the State Fair Fridays. “It’s a change from our normal menu of pasta and nachos everyday.”

The first Friday featured chili cheese dogs and the second offered totchos, tater tots coated in chili and cheese. While those were the main options, other dishes were also offered, including funnel cake with popcorn chicken and fried chicken. The last State Fair Friday is before the State Fair’s closing on October 22nd and the main dish featured will be walking nachos. All State Fair Friday foods are offered in the middle lane of the lunch lines.
