FISD Library Palooza

On Saturday, February 23rd, Centennial High School will be hosting the 2019 Frisco ISD Library Palooza, the first of its kind. The event lasts from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and will offer multiple presentations and stations.

 

There will be a Maker and Technology Playground that offers hands-on activities for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Younger readers will be able to go on a “book walk”, read with therapy dogs, or have their faces painted. Their “Mini ComicCon” features sessions on fanfiction, trivia, miniatures painting, board game strategies, and a cosplay fashion show. Barnes & Noble will be selling books. The Perot Museum will host a TECH Truck with hands-on activities.

 

Additionally, multiple authors and illustrators will be available for a Meet and Greet:

 

  • Drew Daywalt: Children’s author who who wrote The Day the Crayons Quit and The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors.
  • Chris Barton: Picture Book Author and writer of Shark Vs. Train, The Story of Extraordinary Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, and many others.
  • AG Ford: Children’s Book Illustrator who has published 30+ books for many authors.
  • Jen Betton:  Children’s Book Author/Illustrator and writer of Hedgehog Needs a Hug.
  • Jennifer Ziegler: Author of The Brewster Triplets Series and other titles.
  • Sean Easley: Author of Young Adult Books who debuted with The Hotel Between in September of 2018.
  • Mike Merschel: Author for Middle Grade Readers and Journalist in Dallas whose debut novel was entitled Revenge of the Star Survivors.
  • Christina Soontornvat: Known for her fantasy novel The Changelings.
  • Victoria Scott: Author of Salt & Stone, and a total of eight novels that have sold in 14 foreign markets.
  • Kelsey Macke: Young Adult Novelist and author of the award winning Damsel Distressed, her debut novel.
